        The Dragon Rein

If we must stand alone

let it not be from dark dissent—

the arrogant I hating the stone

that is another’s stance, sturdy, unspent.

Stand for our own truth, as rocks

rooted from the human field and piled as wall,

protecting the miracle of flocks,

and touching, and within call.
