While Brother Rabbit Walks his Dog

Heavy upon the weary wind I hear

your unconscious cry, nightmare

day belittles thus.  Futile to deny

your blindness and its face-saving lie.

On its tame leash walk your little god.

The neighbors ignore it and nod;

and if dragons attack you in the night

you can forget them, come daylight.
